KMemo license

This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.

Download and installation

The program is written in Java, so it should work on all systems with Java 1.7 or later installed.

There are two ZIP files available for download:

  • KMemo-<ver>-bin.zip
    This file contains only program and few examples of exercises. After download unzip it to directory of your choice and run either file KMemo.sh (Linux) or KMemo.bat (Windows).

  • KMemo-<ver>-bin-win-jre.zip
    This file is intended only for Windows users, which do not have Java installed, and KMemo is the only program requiring Java. It contains also Java run-time environment, so you don't have to install Java if you download this file.
    If you prefer official Java installation, you can find it at http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_manual.jsp.
    There is no such file for Linux, as installing Java there is simpler - select it in your package manager and start installation.
After the first start it is recommended to open one of dictionary files, which come with the installation. This has to be done only once, as the program remembers the file name and location.
